I haven't posted on my blog lately. I have been so busy! Gary & Gilbert are laying down for their afternoon naps and I finally have a moment to reflect on the past couple of months.
Now that Gilbert is fully grown, he has finally realized that he is bigger than Gary. In times past, Gary would slap Gilbert in the face and Gilbert would be submissive to him. No longer. Gilbert has been defending his territory (his box) with a vengeance. Gilbert has come to resent Gary in the worst ways. Gary will not cuddle with Gilbert - Gilbert takes the bed Gary is sleeping on. Gary will not share his toys - Gilbert will take Gary's toy for himself. Gary sees a toy that Gilbert loves to play with - Gary will hide the toy on him, usually under the living room carpet which when I move the carpet to vacuum I find a whole stash of milk rings, balls, strings, feathers and whatnots.
I think sometimes, if they could only get along with each other, they could both SHARE the box and toys they have. Think of the brotherhood they could have if only Gary wasn't so finicky about his space. Gilbert tries again and again to have Gary be his friend. But Gary has no interest in sharing. He rather go without than share. Isn't that strange?
