I was working on the laptop in the living room this afternoon engrossed in a new project we are working on. Gary and Gilbert were taking their routine afternoon nap when it happened.
Gary prefers to nap on the couch while I work. He was deep in sleep when from the couch arose a loud "MEOW!" I quickly looked over to Gary. He was still napping. Gilbert was nowhere to be seen. I went back to designing. A few minutes later, another "MEEEOOOW!" came from the couch where Gary was fast asleep. What was going on? I waited and watched Gary sleep. Minutes pass without a sound. I looked around, Gilbert was napping curled up to the radiator. Where is this meow coming from? In anticipation, waited for the solution to present itself.
There is went again a huge "MEEEEOOOWW!" The loudest meow yet arouse from the couch! It was Gary meowing in his sleep! This time he meowed so loud, it must have woke himself up because he then jumped into the air in a strange daze and was swatting his little paws in a mad furry! Upon landing on his feet, the old cat opened his eyes and looked completely confused. Gary looked at me, then slowly turned his head side to side trying to gather his surroundings. Poor cat wasn't sure his he was dreaming or wide awake.
"Did you have a nightmare, old man?" I asked Gary. Gary meowed back still a bit confused, jumped down to have himself a drink of water. I'm not sure what my old cat was dreaming about. Perhaps of his old owner, maybe the birds outside, or maybe it was him and Gilbert fighting over territory, but whatever he was dreaming, it sure was intense!
Gary has inspired me to keep a journal of his crazy antics. When we adopted Gilbert, I couldn't imagine how much more the dynamics would change. These are my tales, the tales of Gary and his companion Gilbert.

Dan & I make the local news!
Dan and I were asked by the Wyandotte Patch to share one of our favorite recipes. Dan selected to make Chinese Dumpling. This is by far one of my favorite dishes he makes for us. It is delicious! Dan was visiting one of our clients before the Patch came over for the story. David Reno from Winedotte Wines recommended the white wine to serve with the Chinese Dumplings. Oh was he right! The white wine he choose brought out the flavor of the dumplings. It was so yummy!
