Love You, Buddy.

My nephew Calvin died today.  He just turned 17 last month.  I spent many summers with my sister Sara and Calvin when I was young.  He would get so excited when I came to visit.  I was so happy to see him graduate from High School early, start college early..... Oh my poor sister, poor Addie and Allison, poor Steve!  How horrible it must be.

I will miss Calvin.  He was my buddy.  I loved him so much.  I can't even start to express the pain that has taken hold of my heart.  I hope to see him during the resurrection.

Cold Nights = Warm Feet

So the weather is changing.  Fall is here.  This makes for cold nights and even colder mornings.  I awoke this morning with Gilbert curled up to my feet, trying to get warm. Little boy had his paws tucked under my legs and his nose buried under my feet.  Poor cat was so cold!  I didn't want to have to get up and start the day because he looked so comfortable and he was keeping my feet quite warm.  But when I did finally wake up, he grumped and groaned at me. Poor kitty was so cold. Ha!

10 Definitions of a Bad Day

It is one of THOSE days today and it's not even 10am. If you have ever had one these days that I speaking about, you would be groaning in agreement and nodding your head.  I know other people in the world have had days such as this.  And let me say this to you; I am sorry.  But let us consider, how does one define such a day?  How about this:

1. A day full of anxiety that a fat man is sitting on your chest.

2. A day that takes your breath away and it never returns.

3. A series of unfortunate events that seem to have been purposefully laid before you, all in the same day.

4. A day that jumping over hurdles isn't a fun day of "achieving your goals."

5. A day where your eyes are on the verge of tears, but it's just not quite enough to actually cry.

6. A day where you want to talk to someone, but there is a lump in your throat preventing you from speaking.

7. A day that you are afraid of looking anyone in the eye because they just may misinterpret your mood.

8. A day where your mind is fixated on the frustrations in life and you just can't laugh about it.

9. A day that you hope this isn't contagious, because you wouldn't want to wish this even on your worst enemies.

And finally, how could one define one of THOSE days?
10 It is one of THOSE days where even your cat (or your loving animal) follows you around knowing there is something wrong and they are doing their best to cheer you up.

Yeah, it's one if THOSE days today.

"Dan, please come home!"

Oh Dear Husband of Mine,

I appreciate that fact that you are out and about trying to stir up some business for our company today.  I know that it's been hard with me being in recovery and not being able to work at the normal pace that we do.  And also, as business has been slow, I know that you being gone is vital to supporting ourselves and our responsibilities.  I understand all of this and thank you for being such a loving, hard working husband.

~HOWEVER~

Your cat Gilbert is driving me NUTS today!  Not only is he not taking his normal afternoon nap, he is grumpy, needy, and has been very vocal about his feelings today.  He has been watching the door impatiently waiting for you to come home.  Gilbert has been calling for you ever since you left.  He will look to me, "Meeerrp?" he will ask. And for my response, "He'll be home soon.  Go take you nap."  This of course it followed by more meows, more merps, and more questioning from your cat.

This is adorable, right? Awww... Gilbert wants his buddy to be home.  Awwww.  This wore off fairly quickly when he would cry at me, then refuse to be soothed.  I would pick him up, and he would jump out of my arms.  I would bend down to scratch his ear, only to have him jump away from me with a loud explicit "GrrMMeeeoewm!"  All right, Gilbert, I get it.  I am not your human.  I get it.

So this letter is for my loving husband, Dan Cataldo. So now I am requesting on this on behalf your cat, Gilbert. Dan, please come home.

Your Loving Annoyed Wife,

Stacy

Rainy Days for Cats

It's a rainy day here in Wyandotte. On days like today, all of the songs from childhood come springing forth into my mind.  So here are the little limericks mixed with the cutest cat pictures I could find.  Enjoy. :)
 ____________________________________________________________

"Pitter Patter Go the Rain Drops
I can Hear them Falling
I can hear their tiny voices
Calling, calling, calling."

"If all the little raindrops
Were lemondrops and lollipops
Oh, if all the little raindrops
Were lemondrops and lollipops
Oh, what a rain that would be!
Standing outside, with my mouth open wide
Singing La la la la, la la la,
La la la, la la la
La la la la, la la la,
La la la, la"

"It's raining, it's pouring;
The old man is snoring.
He went to bed and he
Bumped his head
And he couldn't get up in the morning
."
